A Perfect Day!

Thank you again for the fabulous weekend. I wasn’t kidding when I said it was one of the best book festivals I’ve been to, but after talking to some others on Saturday, I thinking it’s actually THE best one I’ve been to.

I came from Utica, NY for the Adirondack Family Book Festival…with my 14 and 12 year old kids and husband.  I was also so impressed with the lineup from the perspective of social justice, environmental activism, and gender inclusivity.  The authors were role models and leaders and showed young people a view of the world as a kind and good place.  Thank you so much for putting together this outstanding event. I cannot say enough good things about it.

First of all, Ktsi Wliwini— To draw so many people to a first time event, and have that wonderful a range of presenters was a terrific accomplishment! Since I am occasionally so clumsy that people refer to me as being “all thumbs,” I believe that justifies my giving The Adirondack [Family] Book Festival a rating of ten thumbs up!

I’m writing to tell you how much I enjoyed the Adirondack Family Book Festival. It was so nice to get to hear from professional YA authors, speak with them personally at their tables, and enjoy the beautiful scenery and special activities. We would definitely return another year and will spread the word to friends and family.

What a fabulous time connecting with readers, educators, booksellers, and authors. Truly the best book festival I’ve ever attended.

The Adirondack Book Festival at John Brown’s Farm was an inspiring day.  There was
a powerful line-up of authors and illustrators, with multicultural and multi-gender backgrounds. This made for rich presentations and discussions.  I loved the panel when the authors read a piece of their own writing.  To hear their writing in their own voice gives such perspective. I appreciated the thoughtfulness given to the speaker panels – the topics, the timing, sticking to the schedule. It was wonderful to see so many families, of all ages, and to have the teenagers involved in presenting the
speakers, taking photographs, and helping in other ways.  The alternative activities were family friendly and enjoyed by many.

What a wonderful festival it was! Thank you so much for all your hard work hosting it — it was my honor to be part of it! It was truly a beautiful event and weekend, and I hope to get asked back! 🙂
